Dear Friends:

     I write with great sorrow having recently learned of the death of Bill Fling.

     Bill was a fighting ally in many of my campaigns and a very dear personal friend to whom I owed a debt of gratitude for his superb support over many years. He was a unique individual with a keen sense of duty. There was never a campaign in which he did not come forth as an enthusiastic volunteer to offer assistance.

     Bill was a loyal Republican and was a one-man army in his effectiveness. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and enjoyed his good company over many years on the hustings.

     Please accept my sympathy and extend condolences to members of Bill's family.
