Andrew Eristoff to Run for State Senate

On April 17th, former City Finance Commissioner and City Council Member Andrew Eristoff announced his candidacy for the New York State Senate in the 26th Senate District. This district includes much of Midtown Manhattan and the Upper East Side.
Currently, Manhattan does not have a Republican representative in the Republican-controlled State Senate. Manhattan needs a State Senator who can take action on issues important to Manhattan residents such as rent control.
Consistent with The TR Group's philosophy, Mr. Eristoff is a fiscal conservative with a progressive view of social issues.
Andrew Eristoff has the background to be a winning State Senate candidate and an outstanding State Senator. He graduated with honors from both Princeton University and Georgetown University Law

School.
From 1993 through 1999, Mr. Eristoff represented his community as one of the few Republicans on the New York City Council. During that time, he helped create new laws on a variety of issues and he held early hearings to prepare for the Y2K computer glitch.
In 1999, Mr. Eristoff became Mayor Giuliani's Finance Commissioner. Since January, Mr. Eristoff has been the Chairman of the New York Republican County Committee. He will resign from that job to devote all his time to his State Senate campaign.
"I look forward to this extraordinary opportunity to talk with Manhattan voters about our ongoing and often frustrating relationship with state government," Mr. Eristoff said. "The issues are complex, but our goal is clear: ensuring that our community and New York City have the strongest possible voice in Albany. When it comes to winning results, I won't be a partisan Senator. I'll be the City's Senator."
