The TR Group Launch Party a Success

On February 4th approximately fifty people celebrated the TR Group's launch at its headquarters in Chelsea.
Taking its name from Theodore Roosevelt's initials, the TR Group brings together New York Republicans of all backgrounds, united in their efforts to develop advocate and impelement the Republican message of individual rights, limited but efficient government, economic growth, and thoughtful social progress.
Political figures at the party included former State Assembly Candidate Susan Cleary, 2001 Manhattan Borough President Candidate Danniel Maio, and 2001 City Council Candidates Jay Golub, Michelle Bouchard, and Robert Strougo.
Republican County Chairman Andrew Eristoff, New York Log Cabin Republican President David Jackson, and Gramercy Park Republican Club President Beth Schacht also spoke at the party.

Mark Your Calendars

At the February 4th launch party, TR Group Social Director, Michelle Korn announced plans for monthly parties. Some will be held at the TR Group's headquarters. Others will be held around town to show New York that the TR Group knows how to have a good time.

The next party will be March 4, 2002 from 7:00PM - 9:00PM at 191 Seventh Avenue #2S. The TR Group will ask for a $20.00 contribution at the door.

The TR Group for Ravitz

Among those who supported Assemblyman John Ravitz' State Senate campaign and attended his post-election party were: Phil Caracci, Stephen Evans, Rao Rampilla, Stephen Scherock, and Robert Strougo.
Michelle Bouchard, Stephen Evans, Rao Rampilla, and Chris Sortino worked as Republican Poll Inspectors during the State Senate election. The Board of Elections needs more registered Republicans to work as Poll Inspectors.

Meet the Members: Michelle Bouchard

In May of 2001, her eleven year-old son, Alex, told her he wanted to move out of their neighborhood. Alex's concerns about trash on the streets encouraged Michelle to run for the Third District City Council Seat that year. She received more votes than any Republican running for that seat has in the past decade.
Believing most problems are best handled locally and that government money can not solve all social problems, Michelle has been a lifelong Republican.
Born in Liberty, Texas, Michelle grew up on a Virginia farm. After receiving her B.A. in political science from Wellesley, Michelle moved to New York City where she has lived for nearly eighteen years.
Michelle's work experience includes: theatre producing, technology, and real estate.
Michelle is now a single, divorced mother living in Chelsea. Her concern for the community and her passion for her beliefs keep her active in politics.

Special thanks to Charles and Barbara Drew for their generous support which has allowed us to continue the use of our headquarters!

New Jobs for Elect Bouchard Team Members

Former Elect Bouchard Webmaster Josh Travino is now a speechwriter for Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson.

Governor Pataki appointed Elect Bouchard campaign supporter May Chao as the Chair of the New York State Consumer Protection Board.
